An AV rating is a rating that’s given by Martindale-Hubbell. It’s a rating system that judges the caliber of a lawyer in terms of his or her abilities and experience and skills, and so I am fortunate to be rated AV, which is the highest rating you can have as a lawyer under that rating system, which is a recognition of my years of working as a lawyer and the experiences that I’ve had. It also, I think, is somewhat of a judgment on how others, how peer lawyers view me in terms of my integrity and skill set.

In terms of what it brings to my clients, I think it is a stamp, if you will, knowing that the person they’re engaging to help them is someone who is qualified, who has a high degree of integrity, and who has the skill set and the ability to be able to represent them zealously with great commitment and skill.
